HOWE BACKS TRIPPIER

Burnley manager Eddie Howe has said that left back Kieran Trippier has a great future ahead of him as a player. Despite being only 21 years of age, Kieran Trippier has won the club’s player of the year award recently.

He has made 46 appearances for Burnley in the Championship, thus starting in each and every game for the club. He has also scored three goals in the 46 appearances. Kieran Trippier joined the club from Premier league Manchester City only the summer. His loan move was made permanent in the January transfer window after sufficiently impressing the club during the first six months.

Despite his impressive performances this season, Kieran Trippier has been unable to get Burnley into the Championship playoff position. Burnley finished the season in the 13th position, but it is not look that bad when you consider that they were just 13 points from the final play-off position. Kieran Trippier thinks that Burnley will be able to challenge for a return to the Premier league next season if they keep improving the squad as they have done this season. He has also said that he wants to improve even more and help Burnley get into the Premier league next season.

“It’s my first season and I think have done well. With Tyrone Mears going everyone said it was a big gap to fill. Hopefully I have shown all the Burnley fans what I’m capable of. But I am only 21 and I have plenty of years to come and I have a lot more to show. I signed for three years and I intend to play well for three years. I don’t even think about the speculation. If something happens it happens but I’m a Burnley player and I’ll be here next season,” he told the club’s official website.
